Below you will find the theme schedules for the third quarter. It begins with fifth grade, and as you continue to scroll down you will see the assignments for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade as well. I have color-coded them by grade level. Each writing project is briefly described, and the due dates and genres are listed as well. For each writing piece, we begin the writing process with brainstorming in class, but students are expected to continue the writing process at home by drafting, revising and editing, and publishing/typing their final copy. Both the draft and final copy are due on the due date. Drafts may be typed but in order to get full credit, there must be visible changes in ink on the draft. Parents--don't forget to sign your name above the heading to verify that you have read or revised the draft; this is worth 5 points on each theme!
