Policies & Procedures

Program: We will be following the selected textbook series by Loyola Press.

        The 7th Grade series is Finding God: Celebrating Church.

        The 8th Grade series is Finding God: Following Jesus.

Materials: spiral notebook, folder, pencil, and red pen.

Grading Policy:        45%- class work/homework

                        45%- quizzes/projects/tests

                        10%- participation

School Rules

1.     Students are expected to follow all rules stated in Student-Parent Handbook

          Examples:

                    -Attendance & tardiness are important. Students are expected to arrive on  time and be prepared for 7:50 start

                   -Students are expected to dress according to uniform Policy.

                    -Students are expected to be prepared for class with assignments/supplies                                                                                 

   -Cell Phones should be turned into the office daily and will be confiscated if  visible during school hours.

2.       Use good manners and appropriate language at all times.

Classroom Rules and Expectations:

        1.     Keep your hands, feet and objects to yourself

        2.     Listen/follow instructions the first time they are given

        3.     Respect others(not teasing or bullying) and school property

        4.     Have all necessary supplies in class

        5.     Raise hand to speak, and wait until you are called upon

        6.     Listen/watch speaker

        7.     Students are expected to use good manners when dealing with staff or

                classmates

        8.     Have a positive attitude and be ready to learn from the start of class

        9.     Homework/Classwork will be graded according to the revised policy included in the student handbook. If it is necessary for a  student to make-up homework during a detention period, they will be  given a new copy of the assignment. Homework is due at the start of  class, and will be considered late if not handed in at that time.

10.   Participation grade includes coming prepared to class(with supplies and assignments), producing quality class and homework, and being an active learner in class. Consistently late/missing assignments will  have an affect on this grade.

11.   Notebook needs to be present in class daily and will be graded     on completeness every quarter.

10.    Copying homework is unacceptable; both students will receive a zero for the assignment.

11.    Students who are absent are responsible to ask for and make up all work missed within 2 class days of their return. A notebook will be  kept with daily lesson’s note that students may copy when they have been absent.

Consequences to breaking rules/expectations:

        1st offense-Student will receive a verbal warning and a reminder of classroom policy.

        2nd offense-Student will be given a consequence that is suitable for the  violation. Offense will be documented and parent will be notified accordingly.      

        3rd offense-Student will be given detention either at lunch or after school.  Parents will be notified by detention slip. The slip needs is to be returned signed.

        4th offense-Student will be given a disciplinary, which they will take to an administrator. It will be documented and kept in the student’s  permanent file. Consequences will be determined at that time.

        **Some infractions, as outlined in the handbook, will receive an immediate

                disciplinary if necessary.
