St. Andrew's Country Day School
We serve students in Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade. The school has continually placed its educational emphasis on cultivating all aspects of a child's development, including religious, academic, social, emotional, and physical areas.
This is accomplished in a Christian atmosphere characterized by human dignity, respectfulness, creativity, acceptance, understanding, and high ethical and moral standards.
Respect, responsibility and resourcefulness are fostered throughout the school by staff, whose goal it is to teach values by example. The students will grow in their awareness of the world in which they live and of each one's role in that world.
Please consider our Pre-K program
Pre-Kindergarten (ages 3 & 4) and Kindergarten (age 5)
The curriculum at the Pre-K and K level provides an educational program based on and adapted to the ages, abilities, needs, and interests of the children. The learning environment is one in which the students can explore, discover, and develop a love for learning.
The curriculum includes:
· Religious education and faith experiences.
· Reading and Math Readiness.
· Development of communication/social skills
· Participation in group activities, projects, and discussions.
· Large/small motor skill development.
· "Specials", which include Gym, Art, Music, Library, and Computer.
Mission
The educational goals for St. Andrew's Country Day School are based upon a total commitment by the home, school and student. Our educational goals are based upon the skills, knowledge and attitudes considered essential for our students to become contributing members of society.
It is our intent to offer an educational environment in which each student develops Catholic ideals and also acquires an education commensurate with his/her individual interests, needs and abilities. This will be accomplished in a Christian atmosphere characterized by humaneness, respectfulness, creativity, acceptance, total understanding and high ethical and moral standards.
Philosophy
The philosophy of St. Andrew's Country Day School is structured basically on the following principles:
- a solid and in depth course of religious and spiritual training
- an up-to-date and constant approach to scholastic development and achievement remedial instruction in reading and mathematics in order to make possible every child's achievement
- wholesome, firm discipline in class and in all activities of the school
- a highly developed extra-curricular program of culture and athletic activities, closely coordinated with, and contingent upon, the spiritual, scholastic and behavioral development of the student.
School Pledge
Students at St. Andrew's know “The Way to Bee”
”I am a St. Andrew's student. I know the way to be. I am responsible. I am respectful. I am safe and caring.” This pledge is recited each morning in every classroom, Pre-K to Eighth Grade. It is only one part of a school wide, positive behavior plan that was started in September. During the first week of school, all the students traveled around the school, using a Passport to Success. They learned how to be responsible, respectful, safe, and caring in the hallways, lavatories, cafeteria, at church and assemblies, and before and after school. Now, whenever a student is demonstrating the “Way to Bee”, they are given a “honeygram.” These honeygrams are collected in the homerooms for school wide, weekly and monthly prizes and recognitions.

National Junior Honor Society News
The National Junior Honor Society was founded in 1929 in the hopes of creating an organization that would recognize and encourage academic achievement while also developing other characteristics essential to citizens in a democracy. The ideals of unquestionable character, scholarship, leadership, service, and citizenship remain as relevant today as they were in 1929. Through the NJHS chapter service activities and academic standards, members maintain and extend the qualities that won them selection.
The following 7th and 8th Graders have met the criteria based on scholarship (cumulative average of 90 or higher), character, leadership, service, and citizenship qualities in and out of school and have been accepted for membership. Congratulations to all new inductees!
